The southernmost feature is the recently constructed double jetty at the mouth of the Batiquitos Lagoon in South Carlsbad that produces a winter right off the south jetty and a summer left off the north jetty collectively known as ‘ponto’. Between these two locations, these images document every structure of the coastal built environment or disturbance to the existing natural conditions that has resulted in the formation of breaking waves suitable for surfing.
